In my never ending quest to become a healthier homemaker I’ve decided to buy a dehydrator and make our own fruit snacks and fruit roll-ups.
So far I’ve made banana chips, dried blueberries, apple chips and after 24 hours of dehydrating we will have our own raisins!
I’m pretty excited about the possibilities. Is anyone else using a dehydrator? If so, I would love to know what you are making.
Before you know it I’ll be sewing my own denim jumpers, wearing white keds and raising chickens next to the golf course!
Retro homeschooling here I come!
Just kidding…you know I cannot sew

I don't have one, but I did growing up. My Mom used to make fruit leather, really good!

I have been wanting one of these b/c my son is sensitive to food dyes, which makes it hard to buy good-tasting fruit snacks. So glad you're enjoying yours. 🙂

Born in England and raised in South Africa … a jumper is a sweater, and not a dress! At a Keane concert in Ft L a few yrs ago during a Floridian Winter, the lead singer commented on how hot he thought it was here in FL, but said 'you people probably think I should be wearing a jumper'. The two young girls next to us were appalled at the idea until we explained the difference 🙂
You could probably carry off a jumper tho!

As a vegan mom who is trying to go raw, this is one of the best kitchen appliances after a Vita-Mix blender and high quality juicer. It really makes eating healthier easy and fast. A definite must-have!

bahahahahaha! you totally crack me up! don't worry. i bought a new sewing machine today and will get that jumper to you ASAP.
i considered a dehydrator but the only dried out thing my fam likes to eat is beef jerky. and have you ever smelled any kind of jerky being made? i don't think i could smell those seasonings for days on end.
i do {heart} my vitamix! that's the only way david eats strawberries– frozen strawberries, milk, sugar and splash of vanilla– blend and you get ice cream! we also love to make pina colada's in them. i just have to remind the boys to not say it out loud or people will think we rum them up all the time (is that what is in a pina colada? we don't drink alcohol so i'm clueless about that stuff.)

Ha! I'm LOL at “denim jumpers” and “white keds”!
My mom had a food dehydrator when I was a kid and I remember her making all kinds of dried fruits, maybe even some jerky… I always thought it was kind of fun! Makes me wish I had one now, but I didn't even know they still made these.
