This week I shared that I don’t have a plan. While I still don’t have a plan I have found that I need to do something each day or else the grief overtakes me and I don’t think that is healthy for me or my kids.
So, I signed up for an online calligraphy course. I have no immediate goals for how I will use my calligraphy skills (if I am successful learning via this online course) but I signed up. It’s a distraction. Have any of you taken this course or a similar one?

I’ve been frustrated with my Amazon Prime account lately because a lot of my Prime orders are taking 7 days to over 30 days to arrive instead of two. I realize that’s very #firstworldproblems. However, Marc Lore thinks he can do better than Amazon.com with the launch of Jet.com which promises the lowest prices and even lower prices if you can be flexible on shipping items in one box or waiting a few extra days for delivery. I’m curious to see how this pans out. You can sign up for a free 6-month membership.
I really enjoyed this recap of the monthly discipline challenges from Laura {Hollywood Housewife}. I really admire the discipline it took to complete a year’s worth of challenges. As tempted as I am to jump on the bandwagon I still am sticking to not having a plan this year.
In the last 9-months I’ve taken two personality tests and I’m starting to become obsessed with them and their results. The first was Strengths Finder and the other was Color Code. Amazingly I thought they were both pretty accurate. Which is surprising since the test for Color Code is considerably shorter. I plan on writing more in depth about this next month. Have you taken personality tests before? What do you think?
When we adopted our daughter we received very little information on her heritage or her medical records, even though it was a semi-open adoption. After much thought I decided to do something about that and purchase a DNA kit from 23 and Me to help acquire some records on her ancestry. We are also going through a doctor to have a complete DNA work-up done that will provide some missing information on her medical history that might be useful to her in the future. If you’ve ever wondered about your heritage or your child’s ancestry order a DNA Heritage Kit and find out.

It’s my favorite time of year: SAG Movie Awards. Which means that movies are showing up in my mailbox almost daily. I’m really looking forward to seeing: The Theory of Everything, Cake and Boyhood. Have you seen any of these movies?
We’re off to the Caribbean for an impromptu trip with the kids. I plan on posting a few pictures on my Instagram account and the A Grateful Life Facebook page if you would like to follow along.
