Mom-my Sa-bat-i-cal
Noun
A traditionally annual period of rest & reflection taken by a Mother, for a period of 2-14 days, away from her home & family.
What a Mommy Sabbatical is:
A Mommy Sabbatical offers mothers an opportunity to REST, RECHARGE and REFLECT. Something that is not easily done from home while juggling household responsibilities and caring for children.
Mommy Sabbaticals allow Moms to:
Sleep
Do Nothing
Try something new
Be responsible for no one other than herself
Take a break from household responsibilities
Read
Be Still
Focus on health
Focus on a hobby
Focus on her faith
Mentally recharge
What a Mommy Sabbatical isn’t:
A Mommy Sabbatical isn’t an escape from your life or family.
While it offers time for reflection and opportunities to ponder what is and isn’t working in your home routine, the break is only a temporary one.
If you feel an overwhelming desire to runaway or escape your family (or life) you should probably consider talking to a Mental Health Professional.
Your issues may be bigger and require more time and care than a typical Mommy Sabbatical can offer.
Women who go on Mommy Sabbaticals are not unhappy Mothers or Homemakers; they are exhausted ones.
